Acceptance!

Well I've just had the exciting news that my short story When the Rains Come has been accepted and will be in the upcoming Smut Alfresco anthology edited by the gorgeous pair Victoria Blisse and Lucy Felthouse.

My story is one I wrote a number of years ago now but it has always been one that has been close to my heart since it involves a few of my favorite things (I'm going to let you all read it and guess about what they might be!). I am very glad that it has finally found a home and am very much looking forward to working with all the other authors in this anthology!

When I get a cover I will put it up here so watch this space.

{Edited to add the gorgeous cover!}

Snow day!

Well today I wasn't in my other work, the reason for this was a large amount of snow. Granted this snow probably wasn't as deep as most places around the world have it but Britain has this unique abillity to close down when a few drops of snow are sighted.

So with my snow day I focused on framing some artwork for an upcoming exhibition I have. However I have also been working on various stories that have been popping up in my mind, whilst attempting to focus on just two.

The majority of my writing has been upon Cold Fire 2 with an idea that I  have been playing with since the original Cold Fire came out. As its been going along the story has turned into something I wasn't expecting but I think that's a good thing. It's very unlike the original Cold Fire with the focus being upon those who are affected by the coming cold (slightly appropriate considering how I'm presently snowed in!) and is set upon a jungle world (which is mentioned within the original Cold Fire).

I'll let you all know how it goes, and keep everyone updated about it.

New Release - Wandering Lust

I am happy to announce my latest release Wandering Lust. It's the first anthology in which I have written all the stories and so I am very excited about this release!

It is a culmination of many years of stories that I have written inspired by many different things. The only link between all the stories is that they are all f/f something that is very dear to my heart. There are seven stories altogether each story in a slightly different setting. It is also my second ebook to be release by House of Erotica.

It's presently available to buy here:

Amazon (UK): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wandering-Lust-Lesbian-Erotica-ebook/dp/B00AZO8E9K/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1357901039&sr=8-10

And here's the gorgeous cover!

Blurb: An anthology of stories of women finding moments of pleasure on holiday and at work. These lust filled ladies find themselves in many situations and experience many pleasures previously unknown. The stories will take you away to sand filled beaches, corporate jet planes, jazz clubs, fast moving trains, hotel swimming pools, an artist studio and even some lust filled hot city nights.

Excerpt:

This excerpt is from the first story in the book called Hot City Nights set in the city it tells the tale of Alexia and what happens on one long sticky night.

Hot City Nights

The air was hot and sticky. Alexia lay on top of the covers, wishing for a slight breeze. The window was open but it gave no relief.
She breathed heavily; she felt oppressed by the heat. This was ridiculous, she thought. She had always been told it was hot in the cities, but what people hadn’t told her was that it was a totally different type of heat to the one she was used to. She longed for the dry heat of home; at least that was something you could get used to. This sticky, clammy heat however made her feel as if she was pushing through warm syrup whenever she moved. There was no relief from it, unless you happened to have a working air conditioner, which presently Alexia didn’t. For the briefest of moments when she had first walked through the door of Danielle’s apartment it had worked, then with a grunt and a hint of smoke it gave up. She didn’t blame Danielle; she couldn’t have predicted that it would happen, but it was very annoying that it wasn’t going to get fixed until midweek which right now felt as if it was weeks away.
She breathed in heavily again, imagining that she was on holiday in a wonderfully cold place. Somewhere with snow, she decided. Concentrating hard on the image she felt the cooling snow on her skin. She was lying on top of a huge snowdrift, making a snow angel.
It began to snow. Big flakes spiralled down towards her, some landing in her hair, others all over her body. One landed on her left nipple. She stared at the beauty of it, studying its intricate design, and was saddened when it slowly melted. A small rivulet of cold water ran down her nipple. Alexia watched the water as it ran over her breast, noticing how it made her skin glisten just like it was coated in oil or perhaps sweat…then all of a sudden the cold was replaced by heat.

Book of the Month - Summer of Fire

So that we can all warm up and forget the cold that is currently holding us all in its grips I thought I would make Summer of Fire my book of the month. Summer of Fire is my first e-book ever published, so it will always have a special place in my heart.

I wrote it for Phaze's submission call for their themed heat sheet. The theme was FORCE and so I focused on a quick hot and fiery story based around a policewoman and fire-fighter thrown together to try and solve a series of arson's plaguing the city.

This story pretty much wrote itself and before I knew it it was ready for submission, and then that special email that came through which made me squeal in excitement and have a grin on my face for about a week!

Anyway without further ado here is Summer of Fire

Summer of Fire

Available at: http://www.king-cart.com/Phaze/product=Summer+of+Fire+by+Nicole+Gestalt

The Summer of Fire, as the media calls it, brings steamy weather and the threat of an arsonist. Officer Helen is charged with ending the madness, yet her passion for a widowed firefighter continues to flame.

For this except we join the action at the very beginning of the story just as Helen gets very close and personal with the firefighter which will change her world.

EXCERPT

"Let me guess, another arson?" Helen looked at the building still burning furiously in front of her. Sweat threatened to drip down from her hat line. Her shirt was already drenched, and she was thankful her uniform covered it up somewhat. However, the heat Helen was feeling wasn't just from the fire, it was also due to the large, muscular fireman standing in front of her.

"…has the traits of it, but it's too early to tell." His voice washed over her, and she felt like she was falling into a warm bath of melted chocolate. Aware he was saying something else she smiled up at him and tried to concentrate on the words rather than his body. It didn't take her long to realise she wasn't going to be able to concentrate at all, even with him in his full fire-fighting gear his muscles bulged, filling out his uniform.

An explosion ripped through the building and Helen suddenly found herself flat on the floor with the fire-fighter of her dreams on top of her. Looking deep into his cool blue eyes she felt hotter then she
could ever remember being. His lips were so close to hers, she had but to lift her head up and they would meet. Just as she contemplated actually moving to kiss him, he moved.

New Year's Guidelines

The inspiration for this post has come from Portia Da Costa's post: http://wendyportia.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/new-years-guidelines.html - so thank you Portia for that!

This year will be the first year that I will be writing 'full-time' I do still have another job but my focus is going to be upon my writing for the first time and I won't be running around being retrained or getting a full time job (that isn't writing). I am lucky to be in this position so my plan for this year is not to waste this opportunity. Due to this I think it is time I sit down and write out my wants for this year putting them in the form of guidelines that I will try my very hardest to fulfil.

Writing Guidelines

  • Write at least 1000 words upon erotica a day - I will also be planning on writing in my other genres at the same time but this is the minimum I want to put into erotica.
  •  Polish up some of the stories I have left unfinished on my computer and get them finished.
  • Submit a lot more then I did in 2012, things won't be accepted if they are not submitted!
  • Treat writing as a full-time job and be serious about it.
  • Try and not focus on my weaknesses instead turn them to positives.
  • Blog more

General Guidelines

  • Eat regular meals.
  • Try and get more paperwork organised.
  •  Become far more active
  • Do more artwork.
  • Have afternoon tea at least once a month!
  • Remember to focus on the small good things rather then worry about the next thing that might happen.
  • Remember to take time out and relax from time to time
There are probably other guidelines that I could run with but these are the most important ones for me at the present moment in time.

So here goes 2013 *fingers crossed*

Last post of 2012

Well I thought I'd leave this post until the very last minute...or as close as possible to it anyway!

Over the past two years I have been retraining in animal care. As of a result last year I hardly submitted any work to publishers however I did have a few releases which is always good news. Half way through this year my first part of retraining came to a successful end, although I decided not to continue to retrain due to various reasons - the main reason is I realised I wanted to focus on my writing. So we now get to the end of 2012 and since July I have been writing and submitting to various publications.

So! As I used to do here is my 2012 stats - my goal for the next year is to improve on these numbers.

Winter Holidays!

Well in a blink of an eye the winter holidays seem to be upon us. I'm sure last time I looked at a calendar it said January 2012 but oh well!

I thought I would use this time to update everyone and do an overview of the year. I don't get that many days off for the Christmas holidays so the two days that I do get off are very special to me and my other half. So for those days I likely won't be writing for the first time in a while but we shall see!

This year has been a bit of a roller-coaster. For the first half of the year I was finishing my re-training which having had various connversations once I had completed I decided to not take it further. Instead focusing my time on my writing whilst also working in retail to bring in a little money.

So! From July I have offically been focusing on my writing. This time has allowed me to focus on bigger projects and so in recent months I've been working on larger stories and hope to have some good news about that early next year!

Things haven't been quiet however on the publishing front I've had a couple of short stories in various places and also an ebook out with a brand new publisher a short upstairs/downstairs story called Made to Mistress, there is an anthology in the works and is just sat with them now waiting for a cover and so news of that will also be up soon! *fingers crossed!*

I'm excited to find out what the new year will bring and will be putting up a lot more posts with some regular slots so watch this space and all have a great winter holiday!

Book of the Month - Cold Fire

This month's (well November/ December really) book is my winter fantasy Cold Fire. This was written with fairy tales in mind. I wanted to write a story based around a fairy tale but not finding one I really liked I made my own:

Beware the Maiden-eater, my child, when the night is longest.
Through snow and ice he does creep,
Taking those who dare to sleep deep within his land.
Long in body and quick of mind he is,
Filled with powers to take you whilst you sleep and dream.
Beware the Maiden-eater, my child, when the night is longest.

And so Cold Fire was born.
This is one of my favourite stories that I have written for two reasons. First I have a real penchant for fantasy stories - although to date this is my only fantasy story that has been released (though watch this space). Secondly I helped design part of the cover with the background actually being some of my own artwork.

I do love the cover!

And so here is the blurb for the book:

In his ice palace Kevalan spends his time visiting different planes bringing cold and ice at certain times of the year. On a brief visit to one he rescues a young woman. He carries her to his palace for her safety all the while worried about his feelings for her. He only has one night on this world is it enough to form a strong enough bond, and why does she look upon him so fearfully?

And now! A little excerpt to tease

“So, tell me, what am I called here?”
His question confused Alice.
“Here? You mean you don’t live here all the time?”
“Of course I don’t, I am needed in many different places. I am known as Jack Frost in some places, and on the jungle world of Ithary, I am known as the Coldbringer.”
“Well, here I guess we know you as Maiden-eater.”
“Ah yes, that was it. You know it’s actually my personal favourite, although, no doubt the reason you tell your young I’m called that is wrong too?”
“Well I don’t know, but I guess it must be. You don’t seem to be an evil person.”
He laughed once more. Throughout their conversation, Alice had found it hard to concentrate on the words, and instead found herself gazing at the body of the man across from her. He was a good head and shoulders taller than she was, and much broader than any of the men from her village. He had about him an air of royalty, and yet he wasn’t frail and small of stature like the Lord, but instead seemed so strong and full of life. She was attracted to him, his clothes tight enough to show his muscular build. As each toned muscle flexed under his clothes, Alice sighed, her mind a whirl of thoughts, many of them focused on wondering what he would look like naked. He didn’t seem anything like the figure mentioned in the stories, yet the reputation he had had to come from somewhere.

Focusing

I will readily admit that I have an issue focusing on one topic for any length of time. I have more projects and ideas on the go then I have hours in the day now and it has got to a point where they are just left around the place like remains of a battle.

After coming downstairs this morning full of yet another idea my better half pointed out that I have this issue and although it pains me to say it I know I must focus and try and cut down the problem. So! From this point on I've decided, at least where my writing is concerned, that I am going to concentrate on only two projects at a time (yes I know that's not completely focusing but I am cutting this down from almost ten!).  From this point on I'll have one erotica piece that I'm working on and one non-erotica piece on the go only. Once they are done I'll be able to move on to the next load of ideas and stories but until then I am going to make a focused effort to work on just two things.

We'll see how it goes! For this first  experiment I'm staying with my chocolate story because I would like to get that done soon, and for my non-erotica I'm going to continue to focus on my mongolian story since it's almost a year since I started it and I really owe it to the story to get it out there.

I will let you all know how it goes! I'm trying to see this as a write 1000 words a day for 70 days again since the Seventy Days of Sweat which I was a part of many years ago really helped me get those words down and caused me to complete a lot of projects.

Fingers Crossed......

Chocolate

So my current wip focuses on a slightly unusual way of using chocolate and how it surprising things can be seen as erotic. It's a story that I've been thinking about writing for a while and have now finally got to writing it which a relief!

Since I have limited time with my other job recently taking majority of my time up I have to be careful with what I write focusing on the most important pieces unfortunately I don't have the luxury of playing around with new ideas until they are already well thought out and plotted either in my head or written down.

The chocolate story is something that I am really enjoying writing and it allows me to indulge in two of my favourite things chocolate and sex.  Anyway back to the writing!

I'm taking part in the Smutters Advent calendar next month (can't believe it's only a few weeks before Christmas already!) so watch this space for more information and links.

House of Erotica House Party!

Welcome to my journal! If you have reached here because of the House of Erotica House Party then please make yourself at home and feel free to look around the rest of the site.

If you haven't reached here because of the House of Erotica House Party then once you've finished reading this entry go here: For more great authors and books all published by the House of Erotica my new publisher!

At present I only have one book with House of Erotica although I know that is going to change, my book is called Made to Mistress and is a BDSM light m/f/m story.

This is the blurb:

As Mary goes about her job as a maid she doesn’t realise that things are about to take a very interesting turn forcing her to accept the more dominant side of her which with her boyfriend will be used on the one person she least expected.

Isn't the cover just gorgeous?

So now for the excerpt well lets join the story as two of the main characters Mary and her partner Harold  have bumped into one another whilst they are working.

Excerpt

“Sleeping on the job?” A voice to her left made her jump as did the hand that quickly ran up her thigh. Batting it away she looked at the speaker.
“No! I was just…composing myself, I wasn’t here long.”
The hand moved away and took hold of hers. All dismay about William briefly died down as she looked into the loving smile of Harold Roberts, the house butler and her partner of the last six months.
“I’ll believe you, but you have to be careful to not get caught by anyone else.”
“I was just…” she didn’t get any further as Harold shushed her.
“Come on you shouldn’t dawdle, I know you’ve a lot of work to do. I’ll deal with this little incident later for now you should get on with your work.”
Mary’s stomach knotted as Harold smiled at her his eyes filling with desire. Her eyes went wide and she bobbed her head.
“Of course sorry.”
Harold squeezed her hand showing her he wasn’t upset then nodded.
“Back to work then.”
She swallowed hard and turned around then fled down the corridor. It wasn’t that she was scared or upset, more that if she didn’t go quickly she knew she’d likely beg Harold for a quick bit of punishment there and then.

Of course I can't very well tell you everything that goes on in the story but I can tell you I had great fun writing the erotic scenes with Mary,Harold and William!

A day at home!

So after a week and a half I finally have a day at home which means I can actually update this, and of course get some writing done!

I've got a number of works in progress and so I have a selection that I can get on with although for the moment I think I'm going to focus on a short piece of writing I've started for a anthology based around sex outdoors. It's being written in a way I don't often write but the way it's coming together I'm enjoying what's been going on so far.

My other piece work is a longer story based on a fantasy world linked to ours. This started out as a short story but at already 9000 words hasn't even scratched the surface of where I want to go with it so I think it will likely end up as a novella instead or maybe even longer we'll see!

However I'm also working on stories that aren't erotica, including a book with a Mongolian based history. I love Mongolia and really want to spend time there sometime in the future until then I have only research and make believe to use when working on the story. It's not set in Mongolia but it is inspired by it.

Now with my one day at home moving on I should go and make the most of it so if you'll all excuse me!

Thinking Big

When I'm not writing I work in another job which recently has become so very hectic its unbelievable. For a long time we've been in a very small shop and now in a matter of weeks we're moving into one that is ten times bigger, leaving us with such a large space that we're not sure what to do with it.

We have schedules to make and with a bigger premises our mantra has become think bigger. This has got me thinking however that in my writing I should be thinking big and not confine myself to what I do presently. I need to look at the bigger picture and lay down some goals that may not be achievable straight away but are things that I can work towards.

And I need to think bigger where promotion is concerned which will be starting soon so keep an eye out for more promotions and guest blogs occuring over the next few months.

So now my mantra will continue to be Think Bigger and not restrain my thinking based on what has gone before.

Blurb: As Mary goes about her job as a maid she doesn’t realise that things are about to take a very interesting turn forcing her to accept the more dominant side of her which with her boyfriend will be used on the one person she least expected.

Excerpt:

Mary had been in service to the Raslo family all her life, her mother having also been in their employ. It had been a number of years since her own mother had passed on but Mary continued to remain loyal to the Raslo family through the ups and downs of family life. She had enjoyed a happy childhood growing up within the house and had now blossomed into a beautiful young woman.
In the last six months the feel of the house had shifted with the unexpected death of David Ralso, William his son had become introverted over that time and Mary found herself dealing with him when none of the other staff could.
Standing in his study she took a deep breath and watched him attempt to work whilst she waited to be dismissed.
“Will that be all Sir?”
She watched as he distractedly attempted to fill in some paperwork. Though Mary knew it was the same paperwork that had been on his desk for the past week and from the look of it he wasn’t really filling it in more just reading the same passage over and over again. Watching him she felt a pang of pity for the weight that had suddenly been placed upon his shoulders. He hadn’t been like the others who tended to make it obvious she was their servant, he had very often been found down in the kitchens, and always talked to the staff as if they were real people.
Since the only other young people in the house had been some of the kitchen staff, like Mary herself William had spent a large amount of time down in the kitchens playing games and hiding from his governess with them. As he had grown up a respectful distance had developed but he had always had a kind word to be said and was firm but fair making him very much liked amongst the staff. He was sometimes even guilty of playing the odd prank or two, and was never seen without a smile on his face.
Now however that was all gone. His father’s sudden death quite visibly weighed on his thoughts. In the months that had followed he had become thinner and drawn, never a smile on his face instead being replaced by a constant scowl. His quiet demeanour had vanished and now the majority of the staff did anything they could to stay out of his way.
When he didn’t reply Mary coughed a little trying to get his attention. His eyes flew from the page, face twisted in anger.
“What is it Perkins?” He snapped his face reddening as he stared at her with startling slate grey eyes.
“I was wondering if you needed anything else sir?” She kept her voice soft and calming though she looked at him directly. She wasn’t afraid of him, for all intents and purposes they had grown up together the only difference was that he had money and she didn’t.
“No, of course not, if I had wanted something I would have asked for it. Now get out!” he shouted vehemently at her but before she curtseyed she caught the look of something she didn’t recognise in his eyes and he blushed almost as if he was embarrassed. Brushing it off as simply nothing she bobbed and backed away.
“Yes of course Sir, I’ll be downstairs if you require anything else.”
Slipping out of the door before he had chance to reply she shut the door and leaned back on it closing her eyes briefly. Grief could do many things to a person but she had never imagined it would change someone as much as it had changed William. She wished there was something she could do but she hadn’t the faintest idea what if anything could be done.
“Sleeping on the job?” A voice to her left made her jump as did the hand that quickly ran up her thigh.
