Hot lazy days

For the past few days it's been very very hot and my poor male muse has been suffering badly from hay fever as well as the heat. So the days have been long and lazy although my writing has been coming on a treat and I've been really getting into a piece that I'm working on currently. However it has mutated into something a little different to what it started on.

I've not been doing as much sudden fiction as I've been meaning to but I've been jotting down the odd idea here and there so when I am done with the present story I'll start working on them. I've also got a couple of ideas for an anthology and a murder mystery story both of which will be fun to write if I get down to them.

I'm working on a first draft of a children's story about a fish, although it is in the most basic stages. I know I don't have to do the drawings for it but I've been sketching a few things down to help me explain whats going on but if I feel they suit the story I might work on them to make it all fit together more fluidly.

Contracts have finally been signed and the last edits are in so I'll soon be putting up excerpts of Summer of Fire and news of a competition too.

Second round of edits

So the second round of edits on 'Summer of Fire' have been done and sent of. Its getting closer to the day of publication now (well its still just under 2 months away but its a lot closer then it was!) and I'm getting very excited about it. I've spent the past few days working on various publicity things including some competitions so please keep an eye out for them!

When I'm not working on that I've been busy writing two stories both of which have taken a totally different direction to the way I thought they would. When I write I tend to start with an idea of the person I'm writing about and the first few sentences, then I just let myself write and see where I end up. It's kind of how I would imagine being at the top of a roller coaster as it goes over the highest point feels like. It's very scary but at the same time extremely exhilarating and once you start of you have no idea where you'll end up. The main piece I'm working on at the moment started of as a very vanilla piece but has quickly turned into a possible BDSM piece which will be interesting but I'm just going to see where my writing takes me with it, so I'll say no more on that mater for now.

I've also started working on some reviews that should be up and posted soon - which I know the owner of the site will be happy to hear.

Edits

So the edits are getting done and its getting closer to the publication date! I'm very excited and keep an eye out on here for extracts will be popping up soon.

The weathers been pretty good recently which is great for those who like sun and heat but not so great for my muse who has hay fever and is very full of sniffles at the moment. We've been looking after some cats and a house over the past week which I've enjoyed I love being around animals and one of the cats is just so friendly that she stays with you the entire time your in the house. I've been using it as an opportunity to watch how cats move, they always seem to take only just the right amount of steps as if they have the distances already worked out. The reason I've been watching the cats is because I've had a few ideas of a shape shifter story which I wont say much more about other then the main protagonist is very sexy!

Now we've got to head over the house and clean up the gift that has been left for us (poor mouse).
