A lot of writers will not write about anything unless they have actually experienced it themselves even if that means actually getting arrested and put in a jail cell just to experience the sensations etc.. Although this might seem a bit extreme the results can often be gritty and more realistic then the writing of someone who hasn't experienced it. However this isn't always the case especially when it comes to fantasy and science fiction authors, for much of those writing styles a jump of faith is very often needed.
In some ways I write what I know about, my writing tends to lean more towards f/f relationships and BDSM however there is a lot that I don't write about that I have experienced, my faith is one. I'm not sure why I don't write about Wicca and paganism, I have ideas for children books and other such tales but I don't feel the need to write characters that have a particular faith. I guess part of me is worried that I'll write it wrong, as Wicca is such an open faith there are a lot of opinions on many many different aspect's and I know you can't please everyone but I guess I'm worried that by writing something with a pagan theme to it I'll open the faith up more to stereotypes. I would like to write something, but I think it will take time for the words to correctly form in my head.
At the present I'm happy writing about some things I know and not all of them. As for the fantasy and science fiction I write I do enjoy it and hopefully will be doing more in the future possibly even blurring the genre's a bit.

Recent Writings
Recently I've been spending a lot of time writing sudden fiction pieces. Sudden Fiction is classed as a story of 1000 words or less. I have gotten into it due to a post I happened to see on one of the online forums I visit. Since I spend most of my time writing pieces that are 5000+ words I have found it really interesting to see if I can use the least amount of words possible and still end up with a decent story. In fact I think it has actually been helping me focus on the words I use because in my speech I am famous for using the most amount of words to describe one thing when actually one word will do, I'm probably doing it right now actually! The results I have had have been pleasantly surprising and I'm very pleased with what I have produced. A number of pieces are now in submission and I await the word on them.
Other then that I had been really hoping to have something written for a MaleDom anthology but illness took hold of me and time got the better of me and I've just not got anything decent to send in. So I'm having to say no to that one. I dislike it when I plan to do something and don't do it usually I would have pushed and pushed until it was done but this time i couldn't even stay awake long enough to write hello let alone almost 20k! Still I'm feeling better now and I'm busy planning the next pieces for submission.
Genre's
Although this online journal was created as a place for my erotica readers to come and learn more about me for the time being at least it is now becoming the main point of communication for all the different genre’s that I write in. Now since I use many different pseudonyms I better introduce you all to them!
First of I use Heidi Cook for my science fiction, and sudden fiction (stories of 1000 words or less) as well as some of my non-fiction work (There will be details about them soon).
Heidi Morbannaon is the name I use when writing fantasy works. This is also the name I use for my pagan non-fiction works.
Nicole Gestalt is my erotica/romance name. It is under this name I write most of all but the others are gaining in usage.
As well as those genres I mix and match the names to the pieces I'm working on depending on how right the name feels with the piece. I also use Heidi Morbannaon and Heidi Cook with my artwork and have sold a number of pieces under both. Then of course you get the cross-genre works where things just get complicated!
As I've said before I use separate names for different genre's so that people don't get panicked when they read something they weren't expecting of my writing. However rest assured we are all the same person and no I don't have multiple personalities.
